Christine Alexiou - Art Teacher

Christine graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a degree in Communications and Design and worked for many years as an illustrator, graphic designer, and art director in the educational publishing industry.

Having studied art and with a keen interest in sewing, Christine found that she could combine her passion for both in the form of fibre art and quilting. She enjoys finding new ways to express herself artistically and is constantly experimenting with her quilting and fibre art creation. She draws inspiration from numerous sources, most notably from art history, nature, current and historical events, and literature.

Christine's art quilts have been recognized internationally and she is the recipient of several awards, including the "A World of Beauty" from International Quilt Association. She is also a proud member of SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates), International Quilt Association, and American Quilter's Society.
