Knitting Classes

Grab your knitting needles and yarn and get ready to learn how to knit!

Knitting Class: Beginner & Beyond

As a beginner you will learn:

  • Casting on, knit, purl, increase, decrease and casting off.

  • How to read a pattern, understand the labels on yarn and learn the different types of yarn and knitting.

  • By the end of the third class, you should have completed a scarf.

 

Students will be given a list of supplies required for the class they must purchase and bring.

​Interested in knitting beyond the basics? Exploring new knitting techniques? Megan can help you add to your skills and assist you with your project.​

Dates: Thursday evenings on March 26, April 16, and April 23, 2026

Time: 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Cost: $96 for non-members or $90 for guild members​

Age: Ages 8 and older

  • Once accepted to the class please pay for the class by
    e-transfer to markhamguildtreasurer@gmail.com and use the security question for what class and the answer should be knit3.

  • If you cannot do e-transfer, payment can be made by
    mailing or dropping off a cheque in the mailbox at the guild
    payable to Markham Guild of Village Crafts, 11 Church Street, Markham, ON L3P 3V5
