Class Overview:

  • This class is for counted cross stitch, which means that there is a pattern, but it is not printed on the fabric.  The pattern is printed on paper, with symbols in squares representing each stitch and which colour to use for the stitch.  The paper pattern can be reused for other cross stitch projects and also other crafts.

  • The stitches are counted from a starting point on the pattern, usually the middle point in the fabric.  The fabric used is Aida cloth, which is woven with small spaces for the needle and thread, so it is easy to see where the next stitch should be placed.  The kits contain all the supplies needed to complete a small project.  The ring included can be used as a frame.  All the students need to bring to class is a pair of scissors suitable for cutting thread.

  • There are different patterns for different subjects, so at the class the students can choose the one they prefer.

  • Suitable for beginners or new learners, and also fun for others who have done this before and need a refresh!
